Commercial Loans – Small Business Borrowing and Economic Data Considered
Jan 21st 2012, 18:32

It seems that most of the economists know that our economic engine for employment is our small businesses. Unfortunately, after the “too big to fail” Wall Street bailouts of all of the banks, the small business community didn’t get the juice it needed. Our smaller firms did not get the money they needed to borrow to stay in the game during the economic recession. Now that the recession has lingered far too long, and unemployment rates are going back up companies are not interested in borrowing money, even though it is now available. This presents several problems. First, if small businesses aren’t expanding, and new business startups aren’t occurring, then we cannot have job growth in the small business sector. Since 60 to 70% of our population is employed by smaller firms, without the help of the small business community we are stuck, without a direction to move in. An interesting article in this regard was published on MSN Business News on the last day of June 2011 titled “U.S. small business borrowing surges” by Ann Saphir which attempted to put a really nice little spin on things as it stated; “Borrowing by small U.S. businesses rose at a record pace in May, data released by PayNet Inc.,” and “overall volume of financing to U.S. small businesses, rose 26 percent in May from a year earlier. The index is now at its highest since July 2008, two months before the collapse of Lehman Brothers and the near derailment of the world financial system. Dallas Fed President Richard Fisher on Tuesday said he expects 4 percent growth in the second half, more than twice the 1.9 percent pace in the first quarter.” As a former franchisor, I realize that when new businesses start, they have to hire people and employees. If new businesses don’t start, then obviously they aren’t around to hire anybody. Each time my company set up a new franchise, that franchisee would immediately have to go out and hire four or five people. Our existing franchisees as they expanded and got new contracts and increased their customer base they had to hire another five people, and so on. That’s how it works, the only problem is that the percentage of smaller companies that are willing to expand isn’t moving forward fast enough to accelerate our economy. As things move forward, albeit slower, and more credit becomes available that’s a start, but it’s not only the available credit that matters, it is the number of small business wishing to take out loans for expansion, or startups. Indeed I hope you will please consider all this and think on it.

Simple Kids Crafts – Wood Projects
Jan 21st 2012, 21:21

When you think of kids crafts what comes to mind? Many of us think paper, glue, scissors, and glitter. There is another form of crafting that children enjoy referred to as wood crafts. Although, it may seem complex there are plenty of rather simple wood projects you can start with your child. Introducing them to woodworking is a great method to use for confidence building. The act of manipulating unfinished wood into a useful household object is rewarding for a child. They instantly feel accomplished, capable, and important. Creating something with their hands helps improve motor and problem-solving skills. Similar to other crafts it unleashes their imagination allowing them to openly express themselves in a new way. The more artistic outlets a child has the better their opinion and communication to world will be. As a parent it is important to assist in your child’s development. Providing them with a woodworking project teaches self-esteem and pride. Many schools have shut down their woodworking programs so introducing your child into the wonderful world of wood will be new and exciting to them. Wood crafts are sturdy lasting you years to come. If you make several projects some can be sold on eBay or Etsy for extra income. Many children would be thrilled to see people actually wanting to purchase their creation. It’s a great method to introduce your child into business and money. Showing them an example of how through learning something you can generate profit. Simple kids crafts made from wood products are extremely useful. A favorite among woodworkers is the key holder. Have you ever been running late and you can’t find your keys. Many children can recall that type of situation. They will find great pride in creating a custom key holder for mom and dad. Birch shaker pegs or wood spindles can be used as an alternate key hook when making the design completely wood. Another great wood project idea is building a letter holder. You can teach your child about postage stamps during the process. It’s a quick and easy project to do. If you want to customize the letter holder let your child select their own choice of paint to add color to the piece. A fun and easy outdoor wood project is building a butterfly house. If you have a decent size backyard creating a structure that will attract beautiful monarch butterflies will amaze your child. A classic wood project that is quite simple is building a toy box with a giant toy wheel attached to the front. Kids can sand and paint the toy wheel while the adult assists with pulling the chest together. The positive aspect about wood projects is its totally up to you. Every design can be changed to look the way you want it to. There are many wood crafts kits available that make woodworking simple as well. Some parents like to use them for convenience. They have an assortment of projects ranging from toy trucks to animals that comes with precut wood toy parts.

Wedding Gowns Of Some Cultures
Jan 21st 2012, 22:07

We used to see traditional white wedding gowns and dresses worn by brides. As per tradition, the white gown is said to represent the virginity of the bride wearing it. Yet not all brides all over the world wear this traditional wedding dress as they tie the knot with their groom. All countries and cultures have their own traditional wedding attire and it is quite interesting to know them. For instance for the American Indians, a long dress that is finished with lots of fringes and embellished with many beads is traditionally worn by the bride. The garment’s different colors are representation of directions like North and South. For the Africans, the traditional bridal attire is comprised of matched fabrics with vivid and bright colors. The bride also wears a gele headpiece, an iro wrap skirt, an iborum shawl and a buba blouse. While most brides of the world stick with white gowns for their weddings, Chinese brides are different as they use a bolder color red in their wedding attire. The Chinese culture believes that red is the color of good luck and thus the Chinese people uses it as an essential element in most practices they have including weddings. The bride’s gown and the venue decorations like a lantern have to be in red. In China’s northern part, the bride’s traditional attire is a single piece of dress called the Qi Pao. It is intricately designed with silver and gold. While in Southern part of China, the bride traditionally wears a Cheongsam or Qun Gua or Kwa. These are outfits consisting of two pieces of garments with golden dragon or phoenix embellishment. When arranged marriages were still normally practiced in China, the bride wore a red colored veil during the entire ceremony. It will only be removed to reveal her face on the wedding night. In Hispanic culture, brides usually wear a slim fitting dress with a bolero over it. An alternative to this is a dress in flamenco style. A Spanish-influenced mantilla veil is worn by the traditional Latin American and Mexican brides. Also a bride can wear the dress passed down to her by her grandmother and mother as a way of showing her pride for her family and as a means of paying respect to the ancestors. Beneath the wedding dress the bride has to wear a lingerie which she has sewn with red, blue and yellow ribbon to symbolize passion, money and food which all brides wish for their marriage. No traditional Hispanic bride would wear pearls on her wedding as these people believe that pearls are like tears which may bring grief to the married life ahead. In India, Brides wear white and red saris. These colors for them symbolize purity, wealth and fertility. During the days before the wedding ceremony, the bride’s feet and hands are painted with elaborate henna patterns. These paintings called mehendi are made by the female members of the family. While in Ireland, brides often wear a dress with the lucky blue color. Green is not a color for the brides to wear as the Irish people believe that it will attract some interfering fairy creatures. Also, if other brides would hate it if their gowns were torn, Irish brides on the contrary would even think about it as a good luck sign.

MyForumSite Yeast Infection
Cure Yeast Infections With Oil Of Oregano
Jan 21st 2012, 22:53

When it comes to a yeast infection, one of the last supplements that you may have thought of to help fight it is oil of oregano. With so many women dealing with yeast infections, it would be nice to have such a simple supplement on your side to help you get your body back in alignment. Unfortunately, millions of women are unaware of the use of such a natural remedy for yeast infections. Instead, their money is spent on a variety of creams and treatments that can become quite costly over time. Learning more about oil of oregano and its ability to fight bacteria will help you in your quest to conquer yeast.

Basically speaking, a yeast infection is formed when the vagina loses the ability to regulate yeast through the good bacteria present. Clinically named Candida, this yeast can cause quite an irritation in the lining of the vagina. This is when the yeast gets out of control and turns into a full-blown yeast infection, which is often quite irritating and uncomfortable. If you have ever suffered from a yeast infection, then you already know that the only thing on your mind is complete and total relief from the discomfort that you are suffering from.

If you are unsure if you are dealing with a yeast infection, there are a number of symptoms that you can look for. The common symptoms that women notice when they are developing a yeast infection will generally include itching in and around the vagina, occasional pain while having sexual intercourse, burning while urinating and a white or cloudy discharge. If you are still unsure of your symptoms, you can always buy an over the counter test to confirm a yeast infection from your local drug store or set up an appointment for a test performed by your physician or gynecologist.

Oil of oregano can be a wonderful supplement to take when you want to fight a yeast infection. Oregano itself is a wonderful help for aiding the digestive system as well as for killing bacteria and yeast. It is important however that you realize that you should never confuse this supplement with the spice oregano that is used in the kitchen for seasoning. The difference is that the supplement that is used to treat a yeast infection is actual oil of oregano, otherwise known as oregano vulgare. Oregano oil is right in a number of volatile oils that are powerhouses for eliminating fungi. These volatile oils include carvacrol, thymol and several others.

When you find that you do in fact have a yeast infection and you have taken the steps to process a high quality oil of oregano supplement, it is important that you know how to use it properly. To help cure a infection, you want to be sure that you dilute the oil of oregano before applying to the genital area. To dilute, simple mix a single drop with a teaspoon of a household oil such as olive oil, peanut oil or coconut oil. Once diluted, you can rub into the affected area. Most women find that application is best before going to bed at night, while wearing a sanitary napkin to keep the oil contained.

If you are hoping to take the oil of oregano orally to fight bacteria the internal route, then you can safely digest about two drops at a time, once per day. Each day, you can safely increase your dose by one drop until you reach a maximum of five drops per day. Generally, women find that they get the best results when they take oil of oregano orally for a course of five days.

Golf – The British Open – Players Need to Respect the Weather & Course Conditions
Jan 21st 2012, 22:27

If you’ve ever noticed, the British Open, in its own words, crowns “the champion golfer of the world”. It is, to my knowledge, the only tournament that makes that claim. And by the looks of its international field, you know this is not an event with the words “United States” written all over it, although it is about as democratic in terms of its qualification policy as the U.S. Open. The venues at which the British Open is played represent the real tradition of golf. They are links courses, not “links” as we know them, as in “let’s get out there on the links,” but links, in their literal definition, which denotes hills along the seashore, and more to the point in golf parlance, a course which resides along the water, without trees. And which, unlike the courses in America, for the most part designed and produced as a result of altering the land enough to create a completely self-contained environment, a “links” course is built to adapt to its surroundings. That means not everything is perfect. That means things are going to get in the way, like high grass, weeds, rocks, and sand. Not because of the specific design, but rather, from the lack of specific design. This really brings golf back to its roots, and how can that be a bad thing? I’m not saying I can’t sympathize with some players when they complain about the conditions in certain tournaments. And let’s leave out, for the moment, the easy argument that all the players have to negotiate the same course, which is inherently “fair.” Let’s talk about silliness. In the Masters and U.S. Open, for example, the reward for hitting a great approach shot close to the hole is often a 60-foot roll that puts the player in the water or in the gallery. Greens with freakish slopes are not natural; they have the effect of sometimes penalizing good shots, which should not be the intention at all. Some of these courses might as well have windmills around the holes, like in miniature golf. But the British Open presents a different series of difficulties, a product not of some sadistic course designer or tournament official, but for the most part, of an organic nature. So a message to players ahead of time – stop complaining about how hard everything is – the wind, the rain, the conditions, the rough, the greens, whatever. Because after all, everybody has to play under the same set of circumstances. Just relax and…..get out on the links.

Vacation Rentals by Owner
Jan 21st 2012, 23:28

When planning your next vacation, regardless of where you may be going, you may wish to consider leasing a private home or villa. Renting a vacation home may be a very cost effective means of taking your vacation. It is definitely an attractive alternative to a motel or hotel for an extended vacation. In addition, should you be traveling with several people in your party it is without a doubt the least expensive choice. When comparing a private villa or home, the motel or hotel can appear impersonal and cold not nearly as inviting. Here are a few tips on leasing your first vacation rental home. Start by determining the number of people who will be going on the trip. The number of people and their ages help determine which house to rent. Many owners do not cherish the thought of renting their home to families with many young children or to a group of partying college students because of possible damage to their property. Next get on your computer and search for “(the town you want to visit) house for rent”. Do some serious search engine work involving the area in which you will be vacationing. Check on the various properties in the area. You will find an amazing array of choices! In many popular vacation spots there are literally hundreds to choose among. On the web will be able to see pictures of the homes and villas as well as information about the surrounding vicinity. Or glance through the classified section of a newspaper in the area for information relating to the leasing of summer homes. These reviews will also provide you with a feel for what is available as well as the prices that prevail in the area. You can also contact the homeowners association which governs any of the condos or rental homes which you may be considering renting. There is a good chance that they may be able to place you in contact with various homeowners who might have a vacancy in their rentals. You can also obtain a copy of the rules and regulations which governs that particular community. You may want to keep in mind that many homeowners in order to protect their property from damages will require that you leave a security deposit when renting their home. Usually, once you have checked out and the owner or his agent has inspected the property and found it to be acceptable your deposit will be refunded. The summer months are usually the busiest at beach, while the winter months are the busiest at tropical locations and ski resorts and the homes naturally will be more costly and scarce during this “high season” so you can expect to pay more and should make reservations early for accommodations in the peak seasons. Otherwise, you might have to rent a less desirable home instead of the one you want. Once you rent a home or villa and experience the fun you can have with the whole group under one roof, you well may say “This was the best vacation we have ever taken!”.

Where Does All Your Trash Go?
Jan 22nd 2012, 01:32

On average, Americans produce about 1,600 pounds (726 kg) of garbage per person per year. To cut down all that trash, make sure that you are following the three Rs: reduce, reuse and recycle. What happens to the waste that garbage trucks collect? In the United States, most trash is taken to landfills. Other trash is transported to incinerators, where it is burned for energy. LANDFILLS are sites that are carefully designed to prevent dangerous waste from escaping into the soil and getting into groundwater. A thick layer of clay or plastic separates the garbage from the ground, and every day workers add a layer of soil to cover the trash on top. Liquid waste, called leachate, is pumped to the surface, where it is treated and made safe. Sadly, landfills are expensive and can be bad for the environment. Materials deposited in landfills often do not decompose quickly, and the waste releases harmful methane gas into the environment as it breaks down. Fact: Some landfills collect the methane gas produced from their trash, treat it and then sell it as fuel. WASTE-TO-ENERGY PLANTS burn garbage to create energy. The trash is put into the plants’ incinerators, where it burns down to about 10% of its original volume. The energy created by this process heats water, which is turned into steam, which generates electricity. Because burning waste results in harmful CO2 gases, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) requires that waste-to-energy plants comply with certain rules abut capturing those emissions. What Does Biodegradable Really Mean? A biodegradable product has the ability to break down (decompose) safely, quickly and naturally. Many biodegradable products that are sent to landfills, however, do not decompose quickly, because there’s too much trash there and not enough air. Some of the least biodegradable products include: disposable diapers, aluminum cans (You can recycle these.), tin cans, plastic bags, film canisters, glass bottles (\You can recycle these too!) and styrofoam cups. Tips to Reduce Trash - Try not to buy more than you need. - Avoid products with a lot of packaging. - Try to fix broken items rather than immediately replacing them. - Donate your old toys, clothes and furnitures to charity or community organizations. A Waste-Wise City Hamburg, Germany, provides a good example of what a city can do to decrease waste. The city has invested money in incinerators that have special filters to prevent harmful gases from escaping. The energy generated by the burning of trash is used to heat nearby homes. Ten years ago, Hamburg produced 1.6 million tons of waste and recycled less than 3% of it. Today, the city generates only 1.4 million tons and recycles nearly 60% of its waste.

Four Things You Should Know About Bankruptcy and Death
Jan 22nd 2012, 02:00

If a debtor dies during bankruptcy, the case does not automatically end. Remember, those debts are still owed and creditors could come after assets of the deceased debtor without a bankruptcy discharge. For example, if the debtor owned property, assets or cash, they could go after those assets with the approval of the court. Only the automatic stay of bankruptcy prevents creditors from pursuing a debtor (alive or dead) for payment. If a debtor dies during Chapter 7 bankruptcy and before they have attended the First Meeting of Creditors, someone else can testify on behalf of the deceased debtor. If no one testifies on behalf of the deceased debtor during Chapter 7 bankruptcy, the case may be dismissed. A bankruptcy dismissal could mean that those debts are still owed. In the case of a Chapter 13 bankruptcy, the court will determine if the bankruptcy repayment plan can be completed without the deceased debtor. The bankruptcy court may decide to convert the Chapter 13 bankruptcy case into a Chapter 7 bankruptcy or to dismiss the case. If the bankruptcy case is dismissed, the deceased debtor’s spouse may be pursued by creditors for payment, even if they are not legally entitled to it. There have been many cases in which creditors attempt to exploit the grief of family members to secure payment for the debts of the deceased. If you are the spouse of a deceased Chapter 13 bankruptcy debtor, you may want to request a “hardship discharge” of your spouse’s debt. That way, creditors will not be able to harass you for payment.

Skyscrapers – History and Future
Jan 22nd 2012, 01:35

Architecture is the alphabet of giants; it is the largest set of symbols ever made to meet the eyes of men. A tower stands up like a sort of simplified statue, of much more than heroic size. (Gilbert Keith Chesterton) Man has always been daunted by exceptionally tall buildings (or structures), that’s the reason that more or less, all Seven Wonders of the World are essentially man-made structures and each of them has to do something with structural significance. Gigantic structures known as skyscraper are looked upon as a symbol of power, prosperity and pride for the city or the emperor. From the first skyscraper (Home Insurance Building, Chicago) to the latest jaw-dropingly tall Burj-Dubai, these building have continued to amaze the spectators and inspire other architects to dream of coming up with an even taller structure. The race continues, and we can’t really predict on how tall will be the ultimate skyscraper. History: We don’t know much about the very first construction in the human history or first man-made building for that matter, but we can safely assume (going by the human nature) that from the very first construction, man had this desire to build and posses the biggest or the tallest one. Apart from being a status emblem, skyscrapers also comes handy in the urban cities where land is scarce and the demand of residential and commercial building is high. Even though we find many examples of tall or exceptionally large buildings from the ancient times, it was actually the scarcity of land that prompted the construction of these concrete giants. The construction of skyscrapers kicked in from the Chicago city back in late nineties and the trend was followed by almost all major cities in the world. Present & Future: Now days, skyscrapers are looked upon as an average building in well developed cities unless they are exceptionally high or brilliantly designed. Hong Kong is said to have the most skyscrapers in the world, other cities with a considerable number of tall buildings include New York, Tokyo, Chicago, Sao Paulo (Brazil), Manhattan, Shanghai, Toronto, etc. The major break through in skyscraper history came when the old model, which was supported by steel frame, was replaced by frame-tube structure (and many other models) by Fazlur Khan, probably the most influential architect in the history of skyscrapers. Some of the worth mentioning skyscrapers of present and future are Burj Dubai, Sears Tower, Taipei 101, Empire State Building, Shanghai World Financial Center, Jin Mao
