Top Golf Swing Tips and Mechanics
Jan 22nd 2012, 19:31

Accuracy is as important as speed in the game of golf. Unfortunately, most golfers tend to focus more on the latter than on the former which brings down the quality of their game. Improving your accuracy will enable you to achieve the perfect golf swing which is the best way to improve your performance each time on the grass. There are many golf swing tips and mechanics that you can put to practice especially if you are a beginner. Focusing your attention on the right tips will be of great help in swinging consistently all the time. It also helps to improve your overall control over the game especially for calculating the distance that you can hit the ball and also the accuracy with which you can swing. Be fit. Now you might be wondering what does this have to do with golf swing tips. Believe me; getting into shape has a lot to do with the way you play this game. A large amount of physical exertion is required especially if you want to take a shot at all the eighteen holes. Strengthen your abdominal muscles because these have a huge role to play in the way you swing the club. Getting your core muscles toned and strengthened is very important; you also need to focus on your arms, shoulders and back muscles if you need the stamina to take the perfect golf swing. And a few cardio exercises can help strengthen your heart and chest muscles. Basically a golf swing takes place in two distinct phases; pre-swing and in-swing. The pre-swing is the preparation phase where you place your body in the right alignment, grip the club perfectly and calculate the kind of swing you need to take. The in-swing phase is where you actually you take the swing and hit the ball. A smooth and fluid motion is what you need to achieve to get the perfect swing. Every component of the in-swing phase, i.e. address, takeaway, direction, down swing and finish should be concentrated on to get the perfect shot. Combining these in a sequence is often the difficult part for most beginners. In the initial period, take time to play each shot by focusing and keeping in mind all the various tips. And over time, you will slowly begin to incorporate the golf swing tips subconsciously getting a perfect swing each time to get along with it.

Monterey, CA: Golf Communities at Its Finest
Jan 22nd 2012, 20:17

Every golfer has his home course he plays regularly with the guys. They often are members of their men’s club, and it becomes almost a second home to many. Monterey, California has four of the best golf courses not only in the US, but also in the whole world. With its sunny weather and delightfully vibrant atmosphere, if the golf community within each city doesn’t convince you on its own, the residents here are walking proof of how relaxing living in Monterey can be. There are four major golf courses within Monterey, California; try out each one, soaking in the aura of each as an individual. With four options, a potential resident should have plenty to look at when making a decision to choose a ‘home’ course and golf community. Del Monty Golf Course, Laguna Seca Golf Ranch, Monterey Pines Golf Course and Pasadera Golf & Country Club make for quite a variety of courses; each has its own set of reasons as to why it should be home to golfers in Monterey. Tempting as it is, world-renown Pebble Beach is just a drive away in the city proper as well. The four Monterey-based courses work together to suit a wide range of budgets, and all offer breath-taking scenery that surrounds each one. The first on our list of Monterey, California courses is Del Monte Golf Course, which is actually the oldest golf course this side of the Mississippi River. A handful of different types of trees, from oak to cypress to pine, fill the course, challenging golfer’s management of their ball. Bunkers guard a lot of greens, and as a whole the course is tight. Del Monte’s country club is also a very affordable one, with a larger group within the golf community. The Pebble Beach Company also owns the course, so residents can rest assured the facility is wonderfully maintained. Greens are poa annua, while tees and fairways are rye. Course rating: 71.5. Laguna Seca Course draws its members by being possibly the trickiest of the four courses; through the Monterey hills, uneven fairways and strategically placed bunkers present a thought-provoking course that’ll challenge any golfer. Creativity is a must in order to get through its hips and bumps, while the greens here are large, receptive with the every-now-and-then tricks up their sleeves. Hole #15 is well known for its sinuous shape over a lengthy 5548 yards. The rating for the course is 70.7, and the greens are poa annua while the tees and fairways are bluegrass. This golf community caps membership at 300 spots, so a tight-knit collective calls Laguna Seca home. Monterey, California’s “public golf treasure.” The membership package is also one of the better in terms of value. Monterey Pines Golf Course is a 69-par course over a short 5,500 yards. The golf community knows it as the “Navy Course,” and is maintained by the Navy Golf Program. Also very professionally at that, too. This course is geared more towards the beginner or golfer looking to build on confidence. Tight corners and open fairways offer the ability to practice on more than a few techniques, and the beautiful surroundings make for a really cool walk if you choose to do so. This is also Monterey, California’s more affordable course. The rating is at a 66.9, and the greens are T-1 Bent, while tees and fairways are rye. Pasadera Golf & Country Club, the last on our list, was built by golf-legend Jack Nicklaus in 2000, and sits on a mountain ridge off the Monterey highway. Elevation changes fill the course, with fast greens countering strategic bunker placement. The more proficient golfers will be challenged on this course, and Jack Nicklaus himself describes the course as having similarities to the famous Old Course at Saint Andrews among other favorite courses of his. The golf community here is lively, as the course website as a section dedicated to community. The rating for the course is a 73, while the greens, tees and fairways collectively are Bermuda. Certainly one of Monterey, California’s more beautiful courses.

How to Play Country Lead Guitar
Jan 22nd 2012, 20:49

In the late nineteen thirties a cowboy musician called Bob Willis introduced the electric guitar to his audiences. Nobody knows whether they noticed this historic innovation but ten years later a whole generation sat up and took notice when Arthur Smith released his recording of “Guitar Boogie”. This hit instrumental established the electric guitar as a musical force to be reckoned with. While the world of rock and roll moved to the music of Stratocasters it took a while for country musicians to move from the more restrained tones of the Gretsch archtop to the more “biting” Fender sound.

Many guitarists play their country solos on the Fender Telecaster with a Fender tube “Twin”, Super Reverb or Deluxe Reverb amplifier. On the other hand, if they are on a tight budget they have been known to settle for a Peavey tube amp. One piece of equipment you will not need is the whammy bar. It is not used in playing country music.

In contrast to other musical genres that use the electric guitar, country music does not employ a wide variety of electronic effects in guitar solos. Alot of country guitar players use a strictly clean sound, maybe sprucing the music up with a little reverberation. The only effect consistently utilized by country guitar soloists is compression which enforces limits on the sound waves produced by the guitar. This effect enhances the volume of the softer notes, and slightly mutes the louder notes. This makes the overall volume seem more even.

When it comes to technique you can start off as a flatpicker but many country guitar players will use a thumbpick in combination with the index and ring finger. This naturally increases your level of versatility more than somewhat. There is a technique called “chicken pickin” which involves popping the guitar strings with your fingers. It is a little hard to describe in writing but you can see plenty of examples on YouTube, but to get the general idea, try this experiment: hold your right hand over the guitar strings, then mute your E (sixth) string by resting your index finger on it down towards the bridge. Next, pluck the string with your thumb. This will give you a “thuck” sound. To complete the chicken pickin move, pluck the open string with the nail of your index finger. This move is repeated until it comes naturally.

Country solo playing can easily begin in the first position on the guitar. When you begin to play country guitar solos just play over the chords. Do not go looking for a “country scale”, although the blues scale is quite handy in country guitar playing. The trick is to practice with whatever chord shapes you have at your stage of playing and see what kind of riffs, licks and tricks you can get out of each of them. It is a very interesting way to learn because every chord has its unique character. Start with your basic chords like C, D, E, G, and A.

So if you want to learn to play country guitar solos which guitar players do you listen to? Listening to Chet Atkins will teach alot to a guitarist in any genre. He is largely responsible for the smooth Nashville sound which is so attractive to many music lovers. Chet owes his style to Merle Travis, using his thumb to pick bass notes and other fingers to play the melody and fills. And do not forget to look for music recorded by Merle Travis himself. Another guitar great is Jerry Reed. A guitarist with boundless energy and enthusiasm, he played on the Elvis Presley single of his own compositions “Guitar Man” and “US Male”. This list could go on and on, so let us finish by mentioning Albert Lee, a British guitar player admired by many other famous guitarists.

Railroad Or Railway? – British Or American?
Jan 22nd 2012, 22:21

You say potato (American pronunciation) and I say potato (British pronunciation). You say tomato (American pronunciation) and I say tomato (British pronunciation). The song points to an underlying confusion of two different ways to pronounce words or to use different words for the same meaning. In the world of the model, life like trains, American vocabulary and the British vocabulary merge to confuse the beginning hobbyists. Americans say model railroading while British say model railways. American hobbyist have electric train sets on which they spend lots of dollars and time. The train sets including track and scenery are called layouts. The hobbyists, called model railroaders, may have layouts big enough to ride. The British equivalent is called railway modellers. The railroaders and railway modellers build and maintain models large enough to ride on, along with miniature layouts and railways to operate. Layouts and railways may be found in circles or ovals and with present day or historic places modeled to scale. A British example, Pendon Museum, is located in Oxfordshire, UK where the Vale of White Horse in the 1930s is being modelled. One of the older scenic models, the Madder Valley layout, was built in the Pendon from the 1930s until the 1950s and heralded the apex of realistic modelling. John Ahern built the historic model and received accolades from both the Americans in Model Railroader and the British in Model Railway News. Buckinghamshire boasted the oldest model village, Bekonscot, and a model railway dating from the 1930s. Not to be outdone, the Germans built the world’s largest HO scale, Miniatur Wunderland, assembled in Hamburg, Germany. The Americans built the largest live steam layout in Chiloguin, Oregon, U.S. The 25 miles of track is called Train Mountain. If you are wondering who builds these railroad and railways, simple look to where hobbyist meet, the Railroad clubs. The U.K. hosts the oldest society, The Model Railway Club, established in 1910 near Kings Cross, London. The club not only builds railways, but has over 5,000 books and periodicals on trains. At MIT, The Tech Model Railroad Club pioneered control of track switching using telephone relay. Another large archive is The Historical Model Railway Society at Butterley, near Ripley, Derbyshire. This club specializes in historical matters and shares the collection with members and non-members. Specialty clubs concentrate on scales and gauges that are larger. They most often use track gauges from 3.5 to 7.5 inches. They are usually hand-built and powered by live steam or diesel-hydraulics and carry human passengers to the delight of the visiting children. Regardless of whether the railroad layout is in America or the model railway is in the U.K. the response is one of awe and excitement.

Honeymoon Vacation Ideas Can Be Economical
Jan 22nd 2012, 22:49

If you are looking for honeymoon vacation ideas that will be the most enjoyable without putting you into massive debt, consider some of these tips. The purpose of the honeymoon vacation is only minimally to live for a few days like extravagant royalty. The real purpose is for and your loved one to have the most beautiful and memorable experience of your lives. Decide exactly how much you really can afford to spend, and spend it all (but not more). It’s always good to be frugal, but don’t be stingy! After all, this is your honeymoon. Honeymoon vacations are even more important than your typical week away from work. Do all the planning in advance – and make contingency plans, as well – to make sure you and your spouse will be totally free from stress for the entire occasion. A travel agent will have an array of honeymoon vacation packages for destinations all over the world. These include a stay at an all-inclusive resort, a rental vehicle, and a schedule of various activities for your entertainment. Since just about everything is included in the price of the package, you can end up paying less than if you had booked it all separately. A “prefab” honeymoon vacation package will provide some bang for your buck, but there are also some issues to keep in mind. For one thing, there is only so much that can be done to customize the experience to your preferences – and doing this can add to the price. During certain times of the year, the more traditional honeymoon vacation spots can be teeming with tourists and fellow honeymooners. Ask your travel agent for some statistics to help you book a destination during its off-peak season. Not many people have the budget to fly around the planet or pay the price of hand-and-foot service at a posh resort. There are many ways to create the romantic ambience and enjoy the perfect honeymoon vacation with even the smallest of budgets. For example, everyone seems to associate honeymoon vacations with travel. It’s as if there were no romantic getaways within 1,000 miles of anybody’s home. That is obviously crazy, since there are probably couples visiting their own honeymoon vacation spots within a few miles of you right now! Instead of setting your sights on the ancient monuments of Europe or South America, look first in your own locale. In all likelyhood, you can build the ideal honeymoon vacation package without even leaving your state. It won’t include the glamour of flying to an exotic, remote island, but all that money you would have spent on plane tickets and passports can go toward even better things.

Nessun Comp Repair
Laptop Motherboard Repair
Jan 23rd 2012, 01:42

A laptop is a simple and compact computer. Yet, its compactness is the reason for its intricacies and complications. For instance, while most normal PCs have a mother board that has different ports for different other components of the computer to be attached, a laptop on the other hand, has a mother board that has a lot of things that are built into it, instead of sections where other parts can be attached. An example here can be given of a sound card, which often comes as a separate part for older PCs and has to be attached to the motherboard of a computer. However, the sound and video display card is integrated with the mother board in case of the laptop. It is for these reasons that the motherboard is perhaps the most important part of a laptop after the processor. It is also not easy to repair a laptop motherboard because of its immense intricacies. While repairing a motherboard one has to be extremely careful and cautious. Whenever a problem is arises with a motherboard, one should not take the risk of repairing it themselves since if it is not done properly it can lead to irreparable damage to the entire laptop. It is usually safe to approach a dealer of a laptop for the repair of its motherboard. They have technicians who have an expertise in dealing with laptop motherboard problems and can make the right diagnosis and carry out repairs. There are many self employed people who repair laptops and are often a much cheaper option. One can approach them to repair their motherboard, but a few things should be kept in mind. The most important is to know their experience in repairing laptop motherboards. Let them not convince and fool you by saying that they have repaired many PC motherboards since laptops and PCs are a different thing all together. Secondly one needs to ask them whether they have previously repaired laptops of the make that you have. If they have done so, they would be aware of the intricacies of the work and can be a safe bet for laptop motherboard repairs. Laptop motherboard repair needs expertise and experience and it is best left to the experts.
