Transportation Logistics – An Essential Part of Transport
Jan 22nd 2012, 10:42

The logistics services have gone a way ahead in the transport sector and today you cannot find one single transport company who does not provide logistics services to its clients. It is so because these services help and assist in efficient management of the heavy loads. There are many advantages of using these services and the most beneficial aspect is the cost factor. The logistics services provide cost-effective solutions for the shipment of heavy loads. The role of transportation logistics is not merely restricted to transportation. There are numerous works which are assigned to its services and hence it has become an inevitable part of transport industry. The use of transportation logistics allows a company to handle multiple tasks in a well planned way. The management, flow and storage of goods can be done efficiently and effectively. Sometimes when a company has huge cargoes in vast amounts then it may get difficult to implement the packaging processes. But with the help of logistics it becomes easy to monitor and administer the whole process. It helps in the processing and delivering of the heavy cargoes with minimum hassles. At present, there are several transport companies who have enlarged their pallet of services and with the help of transportation logistics they are now able to manage all the aspects related with transportation. When it comes to the shipment of heavy cargoes then there are many things which are involved in the entire shipment process. Here the logistics services play a vital role because when the shipment includes the transportation of perishable items like vegetables and fruits or fragile and brittle items like expensive glass materials then they have to be handled very carefully. For edible items, there should be proper warehousing conditions and material handling becomes essential in case of expensive fragile items. All these activities are handled by the use of logistics. There is no wonder that the transport industry has made transportation logistics such an essential part of the industry. Apart from the management and handling of cargo, these services have helped the industry to gain rapid response of the customers because with their help the industry has been able to satisfy the customers by timely delivering their cargoes These services have changed the whole facet of the transport industry. These services ensure secure transportation of your goods. With the help of these services, the transport sector has been able to go global. Nessun Comp Repair
Computer Repair or Junk? When Should you Give up on that Old Computer?
Jan 22nd 2012, 12:37

Computers last only so long. Sooner or later you’ll either have to do some computer repair on that old computer of yours or simply decide to abandon it. In this article I’ll give you tips to help you decide when you need to send your computer out to pasture.. How much will the computer repair cost you? What kind of repair you need to have performed on your computer and the relative cost of that repair can help you make the choice to walk away from fixing that computer. Most computer repair shops will offer you a free estimate before they perform the repair. Smaller computer shops are more likely to offer free estimates that larger shops. If the computer shop you usually go to won’t give you a free estimate, consider finding one that will.. Most software repair problems will cost you under $100 and won’t usually be a reason to ditch your computer. Keep in mind that a newer computer in and of itself, won’t stop you from getting a virus, or some nasty spyware and such. You still need to have anti-virus software installed and up to date. One exception to this advice though is if your computer is running an older operating system because it won’t / can’t run the latest patched operating system out there. In that case, buying a new computer would in fact help you avoid software related problems in the future. Sometimes, it isn’t the one repair that is expensive but the need for multiple repairs over a short period of time. I have an old Thinkpad 600X that is over seven years old. At first, I reasoned that I only needed a few repairs (which I was able to do myself). I replaced the battery, I added new memory and I replaced my keyboard. All of this cost me about $200. Now my hard drive has developed some problems and I’m looking at another $100 or so to replace it. Last Thanksgiving, I would have been able to get purchase a brand new laptop for as little as $400. This new laptop had many features lacking in my old computer laptop like a DVD player, more memory, a larger LCD screen and more. Sometimes, it makes more sense to purchase a new computer than to keep repairing an old one. At the end of the day, only you can decide whether that computer repair makes sense or whether you need to look at buying a new computer. Many different factors can come into play but ultimately, it’s about getting things done with a computer whether your old one or a new one.

Antiques – Are There Bones in Bone China?
Jan 22nd 2012, 13:11

Conventionally, the development of bone china is attributed to Josiah Spode II (1754 – 1827) who introduced it in 1797, but like many stories, bone china goes back a lot further than that. We must first acknowledge China as the first country to produce porcelain, a prototype, or early type of porcelain, about the year 1000. About 400 years later, examples of Chinese porcelain arrived in Europe. From then on and right up until the early 18th century, the race was on to discover the “secret mystery” of how to make porcelain. The earliest recorded attempts were in late 16th century Italy, in the Medici ruled city of Florence, where experimental porcelains were produced by mixing powdered glass with clay in an attempt to reproduce the tantalizing translucency of the Chinese examples acquired.. Further attempts were made in the late 17th century at Rouen in France until porcelain, at last, was successfully made at Meissen during the first early years of the 18th century. This was known as high fired or hard paste porcelain in the Chinese manner. To the princely ruler of Saxony, Augustus, Elector of Saxony and King of Poland, the production of porcelain at Meissen soon saw Saxony become “the wealthy state of Saxony”. Everyone wanted porcelain, everyone who could afford it that was, as at that time, porcelain was a rich man’s, luxury product. To keep the secret of “how porcelain is made” Augustus enacted laws which resulted in the death penalty for anyone revealing, or assisting anyone outside of the Meissen factory “in the secret mystery” of porcelain making. But, just like all the best kept secrets, the secret mystery escaped and competing factories sprang up throughout Europe. (Interestingly, some of the hardest edged porcelain connoisseurs still claim that the finest porcelains made in Europe, were all made in the first half of the 18th century!) Up until the mid 18th century, there is no doubt that the most beautiful European porcelains were produced at the French factories, such as St Cloud, Chantilly and Mennecy. Many are the writers who describe these porcelains as “delicious” and “luscious”. The French factories, some would say, peaking with the famous porcelains of Vincennes and on to Sevres, in 1756. These famous French porcelains were all soft paste, which is also known as “artificial porcelain” which was produced by the addition of powdered glass to china clay, as in the early Florentine, Medici porcelain. Powdered glass was used as a substitute for feldspathic rock, also called “petuntse”. This naturally occurring silicate fuses under a high temperature changing into a kind of natural glass. However, it is not possible to completely outline the story of bone china without first looking at the development and contribution of English soft paste porcelain. The first mention of soft paste porcelain (1742) was by Thomas Briand, a speaker and member of the prestigious Royal Society. Briand delivered a paper on porcelain to The Society and it is now believed to have been based on the French, St Cloud formula. The first English factory to produce soft paste porcelain in the French manner was Chelsea, established in 1743. Chelsea, true to the French style, used powdered glass to produce its superb and now, incredibly rare porcelain. The two partners who established the Chelsea factory were Thomas Briand (the same Thomas Briand who delivered the lecture to the Royal Society) and Charles Gouyn, a silver smith, both of French Huguenots descent, hence the connection to St Cloud! We now arrive at bone ash porcelain, or the more widely known term, “bone china”. Bone china does indeed contain bones, lots of bones usually cattle bones! The raw bone, left after cleaning, is heated in a kiln to about 1000

Simplicity Strive Heartburn
Heartburn Pain – Common Causes and How to Cure It
Jan 22nd 2012, 14:28

What Exactly Is Heartburn? You know that burning sensation you get after a huge meal – it begins in the upper abdomen, behind the breastbone, and makes your chest feel like it’s on fire. The burning and pain may travel from your diaphragm all the way to your throat, and maybe you have a sour taste and the sensation of food re-entering your mouth – That’s Heartburn! Heartburn is caused when stomach acid backs up into the esophagus, which is a really sensitive organ. This can occur for a number of reasons: 1. When the valve that keeps stomach acid in the stomach, is weakened or relaxed and doesn’t do its job properly. This is the most common symptom of Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD). 2. Certain foods, such as chocolate, fried and fatty foods, peppermint, coffee, alcohol, and sugar, can weaken or relax the valve. 3. Eating large meals or to close to bedtime. 4. A hiatal hernia. 5. Pressure on the stomach, including frequent bending over, tight clothes, lifting, and obesity. 6. Certain medications. 7. Smoking. 8. Stress can increase acid production and slow down the emptying of the stomach. Is Heartburn Dangerous? For most people who suffer from mild heartburn only occasionally, it is more of a nuisance than a condition that can cause any serious complications. However, for those who suffer from chronic heartburn, episodes occurring from several times a week to several times a day, it can lead to severe complications if not treated. For people who suffer from Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD), heartburn can be chronic and severe. This can cause scarring of the esophagus, which narrows the esophagus and makes it difficult to swallow. It can also lead to Barrett’s esophagus, a condition where cells similar to those of the stomach lining develop in the lower esophagus. This damage to the esophagus is severe and increases your risk of developing cancer of the esophagus. What to do About Your Heartburn You can find relief from your heartburn with a few self-care remedies. This involves making a few lifestyle and diet changes. Here are a few suggestions: * Eat frequent smaller meals instead of three larger ones. This will help prevent excessive production of stomach acid. * Eat slowly. One way to help you slow down while eating is to put your fork or spoon down between bites. * Don’t go to bed with a full stomach. Stay up at least three hours after eating your last meal or large snack before going to bed. This gives acid levels a chance to decrease before your body is in a position where heartburn is more likely to occur. * Raise the head of your bed several inches. With your head elevated, it will help prevent reflux during the night. * Avoid your heartburn triggers. Examples of foods and beverages that can trigger heartburn are coffee (including decaf), alcohol, fatty foods, caffeinated beverages and foods, onions, peppermint, chocolate (yes, ladies – chocolate!), citrus fruits or juices, and tomatoes. If you aren’t sure what your heartburn triggers are, try keeping a food diary for a week or two. * Stop smoking. Nicotine can weaken the lower esophageal sphincter, the valve that controls the opening between the esophagus and stomach and prevents the acid of the stomach from entering the esophagus. * Wear looser-fitting clothes. Tight clothing squeezes the midsection and tends to push stomach contents upward. * Lose weight. If you are overweight, losing weight can help relieve your symptoms. * Chew gum. Chewing gum can provide short-term heartburn relief by stimulating the production of saliva, which dilutes and flushes out stomach acid. * Drink warm liquids. Drinking a glass of lukewarm water or herbal tea after a meal can dilute and flush out stomach acid. There is a program called “Heartburn No More ™: Heartburn Cure” which teaches a proven holistic 5-step system for curing Acid Reflux and Heartburn. With the use of these strategies, thousands of Men and Women worldwide have been successfully eliminating their heartburn pain within 2 days, and curing the root cause of acid reflux permanently! I have suffered from acid reflux and Hiatal Hernia for more than two decades and, unable to find a “natural cure,” was finally forced by the severe pain and threat of esophageal cancer to begin taking prescription medications to manage the condition. Within 2 weeks with this program, my chest pain and constant burning were completely gone! Because I’m finally sleeping through the night, I have more energy and feel and look like a new person! I have actually thrown away the prescription drugs and chemicals I was poisoning my body with. I highly recommend checking out Heartburn No More ™, and making the changes recommended… you’ll be amazed how it feels to reclaim your life Heartburn Free!
