Simplicity Strive China
Made in China – Designer Handbag Fashion Totally Misunderstood
Jan 3rd 2012, 06:01

Wow! What’s all this garble about “everything” made in China being counterfeit or fake? Do people understand the design and manufacturing process? Or, are they just determined to squabble about one of the manufacturing industry’s greatest resources? True, there’s been a lot of media about children’s toys being manufactured poorly. Shame on China for the mess they’ve created. They’ll fix the problem, or they’ll lose business. We all learn from our mistakes, right? Or, at least the smart folks learn. And, let’s face it, China is no dummy! China has been manufacturing most of the clothing, shoes, handbags, and accessories stocked in all the major department stores throughout the world for many, many years. And, this is not going to fade or go away. China offers low-cost labor for low-end to high-end designer handbags, clothing and just about anything around the house. Most people don’t understand the truth about the Made in China label. China has been producing most of the Designer Merchandise sold in the USA for very long time. Why? Because the price to manufacture in China keeps prices as low as possible for consumers. People complain about the high price tags on designer handbags, clothing, shoes, and accessories. If the same item made in China was made in the USA or Europe the prices would be doubled or tripled. If the Hermes Birkin bag was assembled by hand in China instead of France, the price would not be $7,000.00 each. If Italian leather was sent to China for the assembly of Prada handbags, the prices would not be $3,000.00 each. Please put things into perspective. Burberry’s new management decided to use China for some of its assembled manufacturing needs and people went crazy. The thought of using a designer handbag made in China is misunderstood, misinterpreted, and misguided. The product made in China consists of the same quality of fabric as if it were made in the USA, France, England or Italy. The only difference is the designer item was assembled in China, or any other country offering a cheaper assembly manufacturing process. Most of the high-end Designers buy fabrics, leathers, and materials from the USA or Europe, pay a premium price for the high-quality fabrication, and then negotiate manufacturing in China. The materials and specifications are sent to China and made. Representatives from each of the Design Houses travel to China or other manufacturing countries to supervise the process. The finished products are shipped to the USA and other parts of the world for sale. It’s a process kept sweet and as simple as possible. It creates jobs and produces a global economy. Most consumers don’t know the designer manufacturing process or understand the details. They see a Made in China label and assume it’s a counterfeit item or fake. In reality, it’s not. It’s a moderately priced item made in a country which has been stereo-typed. And, we can’t blame the consumer because most of the junk, counterfeit and fake merchandise bearing the trademarks of others are made in China. Hopefully, the USA Customs Department working closely with the fashion industry will help end importing counterfeit goods. There are many countries available the fashion designers use to outsource labor. The high-end leather designer handbags with high-ticket price tags are made in the USA, Italy, London and France. The lower cost designer products are made elsewhere. Most designers offer collections every season which provide both high-end and lower priced products. For example, Ralph Lauren has five price and fabrication determined collections: RL Classics, Collection, Black Label, Blue Label and Lauren. Plus, many of the designers produce a separate collection for outlet stores and discount stores like Marshalls, TJ Max, Target, Walmart, etc. Some of the countries are more commonly used than others, and nonetheless they are countries with capabilities and low-cost labor. Some of these countries include, and are not limited to China, Turkey, Mexico, Romania, India and Portugal.. Fashion designers who make designer handbags, designer wallets, designer scarves, designer clothing, hats, shoes, etc. use these countries because they can sell their products at affordable prices. Some of the fashion designers include, and are not limited to Coach, Burberry, Liz Claiborne, Robert Rodriquez, Max Studio, Tommy Hilfiger, Ralph Lauren, Marc Jacobs, Michael Kors, Kate Spade, Dooney & Bourke, Juicy Couture, Donna Karan, Anne Klein, Brighton, and many, many others. Just because an item is Made in China, it does not constitute fake or counterfeit. Let’s get this straight and communicated clearly. The reason the item was made in China is because at that point in time, the designer’s manufacturing team decided it was the best business decision to make for a cost-effective distribution of its product and collection. The next time you see a Made in China label on a designer handbag or accessory, and you purchased it from a reputable source, thank your lucky stars for the bargain price you paid. If you have any doubt, take the item to the designer’s boutique for authentication and peace of mind. Don’t assume just because it’s Made in China it’s a fake. You know what assuming does, right?

Easy Kids Crafts – 4 Tips For Hours of Fun!
Jan 3rd 2012, 06:56

With so many electronic games on the market, it’s easy to forget that kids love to have fun creating with little more than their hands, some junk and their very active imaginations. I bet you can remember making a ‘car’ out of a cardboard box and sitting in it for hours making ‘brmm-brmm’ noises until it fell apart! It was great fun, right? Tip 1. Gather the essentials Paper, crayons, safe scissors, and glue are a must. For paper, just look around the house and use any scrap you can find – you can use construction paper, plain typing paper, colored card and old envelopes. Junk mail and old magazines can make interesting art projects. Crayons and water-based paints are fantastic for younger children – make sure they are non-toxic though. For older children try washable dry-erase markers, watercolor pencils, and gel pens. Tip 2. Don’t forget recycled junk and scavenged objects By recycled junk, I’m referring to empty cereal boxes, toothpaste boxes, cardboard from packaging, plastic containers, and even tin cans. Caution – If you let your kids craft with tin cans, you need to make sure the open edge of the can doesn’t have any sharp edges. Simply file these off or squeeze them flat with a pair of pliers. Scavenged objects are things like leaves, twigs, rocks, snakeskins, and other natural goodies a child might find whilst exploring the garden or local park. Perhaps there is a sheep farm nearby – if so, wool scraps can often be found stuck to the barbed wire fences. Any or all of these items can be used in kid crafts. Tip 3. Collage One of the most fun, popular and easy kids crafts is making a collage. Kids can glue anything down when making a collage – and often do! Use heavy paper for the background, and then let the creativity begin! For an extra challenge, build a collage around a theme, like food, animals, or babies. Young children will enjoy making collages out of glued down pasta, beans, popsicle sticks, leaves, and many other materials. Older children might like to cut out details from magazine pictures and reassemble them in new and interesting ways. Search old magazines for just the right pictures, which they can cut out and glue to the background. They could cut out interesting words and headlines and add them as well.. Tip 4. Don’t forget the glitter! If your budget allows for only a few kid crafts splurges, remember that kids of all ages, really enjoy crafting artwork that includes glitter. But whether your kids young or older, encourage them to get their hands dirty and creative juices flowing the next time you hear the dreaded words “I’m bored!”

Childrens Bug Crafts – Kids Crafts to Drive Them Buggy
Jan 3rd 2012, 08:18

There are an estimated 1,017,018 species of insects in our world, so it’s no wonder that children have an endless fascination with them. When they’re outside playing, insects are everywhere, and while the majority of them don’t hurt people, they are extremely interesting to look at. Therefore, childrens bug crafts are very popular with kids, because they love making their own insects. Children can make an easy dragonfly by painting one old-fashioned (not clip) clothespin and four 3/4″ craft sticks pale green. Prior to painting cut each craft stick at a 60 degree angle by cutting off about 1″ of the stick. Let the pieces dry, then have the children paint a veined pattern on the sticks with a darker shade of green. They can also add some darker green to the clothespin including two dots on the front for eyes. When everything dries, glue the sticks into the groove in the clothespin to form two pairs of wings. Clay pots make great childrens bug crafts. Start this ladybug windchime by painting a 4″ clay pot bright red, inside and out. While the pots are drying, have the children color 3/4″ sticker circles (available at discount stores) with permanent black markers. Each child needs to make two stickers into eyes and color eight more solid black. When the pots are dry, the children will paste their stickers on the pot to form the eyes and spots. Cover the entire surface with Mod Podge to make it weatherproof and keep the stickers from falling off. Fold two black craft stems in half, link them together, and thread them through the hole in the bottom of the pot. Glue the edges of the inside stem to the pot surface. Curl the ends of the stem sticking up slightly to form feelers. Feed a string through the hole around the craft stems with both ends inside the pot. Knot about 6″ above the pot for a hanger. String a few pony beads onto the ends of the string and knot the strings securely. These will provide a little noise when wind blows the ladybug pot. A third insect craft is to make a paper plate bee. Start with a heavy duty paper plate. Draw lines across the back of the plate about 2 1/2″ apart. Have the children paint every other stripe bright yellow. When the yellow dries, paint the alternating stripes black. Glue two large craft eyes on the sloped edge of the plate. Punch two holes about an inch apart in the top of the plate a little ways behind the eyes. Thread a black craft stem through the holes and twist them to form antenna. Cut four wings from waxed paper and glue to the top of each bee. There’s nothing kids love doing more than painting, so you know they’ll really enjoy doing these childrens bug crafts. You’ll love seeing the delight in the eyes of the children over the cute insect crafts they have made all by themselves.

Orthodontic Treatment – Problems That Kids Or Adults Braces Correct
Jan 3rd 2012, 09:36

Orthodontic treatment is a common solution for many kids and adults since few sets of teeth are ever naturally perfect. There may be cosmetic reasons for why people choose to visit an orthodontics dentist or orthodontist for braces. There are also more serious health-related issues that force them to go. Orthodontic work can cover a great deal of territory in terms of the problems it is capable of solving. The easiest problem to fix is the cosmetic one. Often people with crooked teeth or teeth with large gaps in between them will opt for braces or caps in order to improve their self-confidence. Braces are uncomfortable but can rotate teeth to be straight or pull teeth closer together in order to close wide spaces. Kids or adults with very problematic teeth may want to get braces instead of getting caps. A single tooth that is crooked, has gaps between it and other teeth, or has stunted growth can have a cap fitted over it in just a single visit. It will match your other teeth in terms of size and color and will operate just as a real tooth would. It can improve the shape of your smile without the pain and cost of braces. However, it may only be worth it if you have very limited problems. Tooth whitening is another procedure for cosmetic purposes. Sometimes these problems can be solved merely with a retainer, which is another common orthodontic treatment. Some people have to wear them all the time, others just need to wear them at night. Retainers slowly shift your teeth if minimal work needs to be done. Invisible braces are another option instead of normal braces or retainers. It only straightens your teeth, though. These cannot correct jaw problems, which retainers have the capability of doing. Jaw problems can include anything from TMJ, to strained or inflamed jaw muscles, to over- and under-bites, to serious alignment problems. You need to visit a qualified orthodontics dentist or orthodontist to correct any of this. These issues can be very serious and can not only give you great pain but may also influence other senses like sight, smell, and hearing.. Remember that your head contains organs for every sense. This is all in a very small area, so if there is one problem, it may affect other seemingly unrelated organs and areas. A good orthodontist will think about how his or her work affects all of your sensory organs. Sometimes kids or adults may need work done even if there is nothing technically WRONG with the jaw. It may just be formed slightly differently, though it causes no pain. The positioning could just affect something like hearing. Few would ever think of going to an orthodontics dentist or orthodontist for hearing problems, but it is very common.. Surgery is common for extreme problems. If your jaw is extremely poorly formed, you can have it broken and reset to heal in the proper way. Jaws can be wired shut. Sometimes the roof of your mouth is too narrow or teeth are too close together. Spaces and expanders can be put in to fix these problems.

To Hit the Golf Ball Better and Higher – Consider Reducing the Loft of Your Golf Clubs
Jan 3rd 2012, 16:20

At first sight this may seem to be a strange paradox; after all, in order to hit the ball higher the obvious thing to do outside of changing the golf swing would be to increase the loft, not decrease it. This may be the accepted wisdom of “usual” golf advice, but is it necessarily correct?

Travel Expertly – Tips on How to Avoid Jet Lag
Jan 3rd 2012, 18:58

Avoiding jet lag when you’re flying coast-to-coast or around the world is definitely possible if you know how to do it. A survey by Conde Naste said that 93% of travelers get jet lag and even 96% of flight attendants get it as well. Jet lag is no fun as it can affect your ability to enjoy your vacation if you get sidelined by the extreme tiredness that often accompanies adjusting to long flights across many time zones. My first true experience with jet lag occurred on my first trip overseas to London and after that experience, I vowed to learn the secrets of avoiding jet lag. I had a red eye flight from JFK to Heathrow and arrived at my hotel around mid-day. I was so extremely tired when I checked in to my hotel that I proceeded to take a very long nap. This was exactly the wrong thing for me to do as it took several days before I eased into the rhythm and flow of London’s time zone. I’ve since learned a lot of tips for avoiding jet lag and no longer have my trips sidelined by it. First, you need to know that traveling across different time zones is the number one cause of jet lag. It happens most frequently by going from the west to the east, but you can get jet lag by traveling east to west also. Second, I have learned that a huge reason for experiencing jet lag, at least for me, is purely psychological but that does not mean there are not physiological reasons impacting the feeling of jet lag as well. Here are some tips that I’ve collected and applied over the years that seem to work very well. I used these tips for avoiding jet lag when I traveled from Los Angeles to Finland and back in four days for a video shoot with Travel Editor Peter Greenberg. I produced a “Search for Santa” segment at the Arctic Circle featuring Peter for ABC-TV’s Home Show. 1. Get little or no sleep the night before you travel. Believe it or not, this is a great tip for avoiding jet lag. I usually have so much to do the night before I take a long flight, that I stay up very late the night before my trip taking care of last minute details such as packing my suitcases and taking care of lots of odds and ends. This activity has actually served me very well as I then find it very easy to fall asleep on the plane and arrive at my destination ready to take in the sights. By sleeping on the plane, it helps me to quickly adjust to the new time zone that I’m traveling to and it’s very helpful for avoiding jet lag. 2. Take a Tylenol PM or Melatonin to help you sleep on the plane. I find that if I have a little help with a sleep aid to induce a nice relaxing sleep, I get the rest and sleep I need while I’m on a flight and this is very helpful for avoiding jet lag. For me, that means just ONE Tylenol P.M. or about 15mg of Melatonin (with one-to-two 5HTPs) but you should use it responsibly. I get Schiff’s Melatonin at Costco and it’s very inexpensive and I will sometimes take Melatonin throughout my vacation to help reduce the effects of jet lag as it helps me adjust my sleep pattern for the new time zone.. Before you rely on Tylenol PM or Melatonin for a trip, you really need to take them for a “test spin” before your flight to determine if they are effective for you or not. I initially tried these sleep aids on a Friday night when I knew I could sleep in or relax on a Saturday if they made me too tired after taking them. This is VERY important to do this. The recommended dosage on a Tylenol P.M. is TWO tablets. I have NEVER taken two tablets because one tablet is more than enough to induce sleep for me. I only want to get a good night’s sleep. I do not want to feel groggy for an entire day so that’s why you personally have to determine how your body will respond to this suggestion. I’m also personally not a fan of the prescription sleep medications so I can’t comment on using them for this purpose. 3. Do NOT drink alcohol or caffeine when you fly. Drinking alcohol, coffee and caffeinated sodas during your flight will dehydrate you and contribute to your feeling of jet lag – so just don’t drink these beverages on your travel day. I know that sounds harsh but you certainly don’t want to drink alcohol (including wine and beer) if you’re taking Tylenol P.M. Now, if you must have a cup of coffee, then wait and have your brew in the morning right before you’re arriving at your destination when the flight attendants are serving breakfast. Save the drinking for fun spots, swim up bars, pubs and dining out when you get to your vacation destination. If you don’t follow this travel tip for avoiding jet lag, then you will really pay for it on your vacation. 4. Do drink plenty of water. It is very important that you drink plenty of water when you fly as dehydration will contribute to your physical feelings of jet lag. Some airlines try to keep passengers hydrated on long flights by coming around with water, but they don’t usually do a very good job of coming around enough and that’s why I always make sure I have at least one-to-two liters of water with me. I also ask for extra water when the flight attendants come around offering drinks. Drinking plenty of water while I’m on a coast-to-coast or international flight greatly contributes to avoiding jet lag. 5. As you travel, slowly start setting your watch ahead to the correct time zone at your vacation destination. This is the single most important tip to avoiding jet lag. You should slowly start setting your watch ahead an hour or two during your flight to the correct time at your destination. Make sure that you have your watch set for your destination’s time zone several hours before you actually arrive as you will be psychologically set to jump right into the new time zone. I’ve used this tip for avoiding jet lag for over twenty years and it works wonders at alleviating jet lag for me whether I’m traveling coast-to-coast or flying half-way around the world. In my opinion, most jet lag is purely psychological and getting your mind fixed on the new time zone is one of the easiest things to do to avoid jet lag. 6. If you arrive at your vacation destination in the morning or afternoon, do NOT go bed when you arrive at your hotel. I made this mistake only once and learned my lesson quickly. Drop your suitcases at your hotel and then go out and explore your destination for the day. Take a double-decker bus tour and get a quick orientation to your city or lay on the beach for the day. Have an early dinner and then go to bed early your first night at your vacation destination. You’ll sleep a very good sleep and be quickly adjusted to the new time zone by morning. Finally, make sure that you get up and move around while on a long flight because sitting in a cramped position for hours at a time only adds to the misery of getting jet lag and could also have some very serious (even deadly) implications. Get some exercise while you are on your flight. You can twist and stretch out to keep your muscles relaxed or walk up and down the cabin if possible every once in a while. This can keep your feet from swelling up. Now I don’t know if these tips will work for you, but I can tell you that they’ve worked for me for years and I have yet to experience jet lag at my vacation destination since implementing these tips for avoiding jet lag. Just remember, you don’t need to let jet lag ruin your business trip or vacation. If you use these tips suggested here for avoiding jet lag, you will enjoy your trip!

Get a Car Loan 60 Seconds After Your Bankruptcy Is Discharged
Jan 3rd 2012, 23:56

Well, the headline above is a little bit misleading for the sake of humor. The truth is, you can get a bankruptcy car loan after you have declared and discharged bankruptcy. And if you find the right lender, you can often get an approval within seconds after submitting your application. You have a couple of options. You can try traditional lenders such as banks and credit unions. You can approach a so-called pay here car dealer. You can get a pre-approved bankruptcy car loan by shopping online. Take a look at each. Car Loans from Traditional Lenders Traditional brick and mortar financial institutions such as banks and credit unions have tightened their qualifications for just about any type of credit financial instruments since the housing loan debacle of the last decade. Of course, having just discharged a bankruptcy, these lenders are not going to vigorously welcome you with a bankruptcy car loan. But, if you have been a client and held accounts with them for some good period of time, they may be willing to cut you some slack. If you have retirement or investment accounts with them, all the better. Also, these institutions offer the lowest interest rates of all your other options. Pay Here Car Dealerships Depending on your attitude toward car shopping and your financial situation, this could be either a good or bad approach to getting a bankruptcy car loan. With loans offered by the dealership, you are locked into purchasing a car off that particular lot. You will not have to go loan shopping; it will be a one step venture; you can get a car, a loan, and often insurance with one visit to one lot. And, if you like, these dealerships are often amenable to setting up weekly or pay day payment schedules. The most important thing to consider is that these loans will probably carry the highest interest rates of all your options. And it is easy to get swept into a rather costly deal with the dealer dangling keys in your face with one hand, and in the other hand holding a perhaps usurious bankruptcy car loan contract and a pen. Be careful and read the fine print. Internet Car Loan Lenders This is probably the best way to land a bankruptcy car loan. Punch your browser with the key phrase, car loan. You will be immediately rewarded with scores of lenders who may be willing to offer you a bankruptcy car loan. You will also find brokers who will take some general information about your financial needs and goals and come up with a list of lenders who would be most likely to work with you and for you. The nice thing about this is the negotiating power it gives you when you walk onto a car lot. You are not obliged to only pick certain cars, you can shop at any dealership you choose. Interest rates will be somewhat higher than those offered by a traditional lender. But so many folks have taken hits on their credit reports during these troubled financial times. And traditional lenders are not lending easily. So, many private lending companies have entered the hot market and you will be able to pick and choose to find the best interest rates and most comfortable repayment terms. Bankruptcy Car Loans Can Even Help No matter which way you choose to get your bankruptcy car loan, if you honor the loan contract and make your payments in a timely manner, you will be giving your credit ratings a big boost. Just be careful, do not let anybody back you into a corner so that you end up signing something you will regret until the loan is paid off. You have heard it so many times because it is so true – read the fine print before you sign anything.
