Learn Simple Guitar Songs
Jan 18th 2012, 23:17

If you are looking for some simple guitar songs to start your repertoire as a guitar player, I will try and point you in the right direction. You probably decided to learn to play the guitar so you could play the songs you like, and it is quite possible that you will be able to learn the basics of guitar playing using some of your favorites. But you need to start with simple guitar songs so that learning to strum the strings and change chords will not be too stressful.

So before you can play any songs at all you need to understand what learning to play the guitar involves. On your first day as the owner of a guitar you should be able to name the parts of the guitar, have some idea of how to change the guitar strings and know how to tune your guitar. If you do not know these things, you should do a web search for “parts of the guitar”, “how to tune guitar” and “online guitar tuner”. You should also find a tutorial on how to read guitar tabs.

To start your career as a guitar player, the first of your collection of simple guitar songs should be Horse With No Name by America. If you search for “Horse With No Name Tab” you will find a number of versions that feature between two and four very simple chords. If you do not know what the song sounds like you will find it on YouTube.

Silent Night would be a good candidate for your second simple guitar song. You can play it using the chords C, G and F which are all simple chords. The F chord will be your first barre chord. Barre chords are made when you place the first finger of your left hand across two or more strings. It takes a few weeks of steady practice to get these chords sounding cleanly but playing barre chords means getting the major hard work of learning guitar out of the way.

You could look at finding bands whose songs are usually quite simple to play. Greenday is one band that springs to mind. You could attempt Time Of Your Life even though it does make use of finger style guitar techniques.

Other simple guitar songs for you to learn are, For What It’s Worth by Buffalo Springfield, Mr. Tambourine Man by Bob Dylan, Take It Easy By The Eagles and Eight Days a Week by The Beatles. Another simple guitar song recorded by The Beatles is Twist and Shout which was also recorded by many other artists.

Best Guitar Strings
Jan 18th 2012, 23:02

The first consideration that will come to mind when choosing the best guitar strings for yourself will be your own comfort. Metal strings tend to be tighter for pressing. They may also be too hard from some fingers. For beginners who still have to discover the right grip they need to play the guitar comfortably, the discomfort of hard strings will merely distract them while they study how to handle the instrument. Instead, beginners should start out with a set of smooth, easy to press and soft nylon strings. These strings are soft to the touch and in sound. The subdued tones of nylon strings will make mistakes less jarring. So in choosing the best guitar strings for yourself, and for your first performance as a newbie, you might want to camouflage mistakes by using nylon guitar strings.

The next consideration for choosing the best guitar strings for yourself will be what type of guitar you are playing. If you are a classical player, never use metal strings on your guitar when choosing the best guitar strings. In the first place, the tightness of metal strings may loosen the tuners at the top of the guitar, and in the second place, metal strings have a twang that doesn’t vibrate well with a classical guitar or the music that’s played on them. In choosing the best guitar strings, be aware that electric and acoustic guitars need flat metal strings which vibrate evenly and are easier to use with the style of playing on these guitars. Flat polished strings are the easiest to use and are ideal for an electric guitar beginner. Flat wound strings are the choice of professional players for electric guitars. They produce a smoother sound with amplification.

Another factor that will influence your choosing the best strings for yourself is the kind of sound you want to produce on the guitar. In this regard, some guitar players will use metal strings on classical guitars because the music they want to make requires the particular sound that this combination produces. But the normal standards indicate that if your taste tends towards folk music, you can still use nylon for a mellow sound, but this time a thicker type of nylon that can stand a lot of vigorous strumming. When choosing the best guitar strings bronze guitar strings are your best choice for finger-picking folk music because the brilliance of their tone makes for clarity of those very short notes. Finger-playing country music needs the tone produced by silk and steel string. For the harshest sound, select a set of brass strings.

As you can see, choosing the best guitar strings for yourself involves knowing what tones you want to produce with your guitar. When you start out with guitar playing, you may not have any specific preferences yet. Therefore, your ability for choosing the best guitar strings for yourself and by yourself will come after some time, when you have mastered and tapped the potentials of your instrument and when you have become familiar with the different tones you can produce on it. Until you get to that point, stick to the standard rules for choosing the best guitar strings and you will be fine.

nessundormas Orthodontics
The Basics to Orthodontics
Jan 19th 2012, 03:21

The field of dentistry is always going to be a huge hit as there will always be people who need help with their teeth or some type of repairs done. More and more people are choosing to take better care of their teeth, and one area that many people need is orthodontics. This is a specialized area of teeth and mouth care and involves re-aligning them if they are crooked. Orthodontics is the field of straightening teeth with either retainers or braces. These apply pressure to the teeth and help realign them into their proper place. Many people are worried about what their smile looks like and that leads to needing orthodontics. History The beginning to orthodontics and the use of braces can be taken all the way back to the year 400 B.C. which is when Hippocrates began studying and writing about attempting to straighten teeth that were crooked. This procedure began being utilized in the 1900′s, and was first used my Dr. Norman Kingsley. He began writing about braces and how to correct teeth that were protruding from the mouth in the 1850′a, and later on in 1890, Dr. Angle began realizing how important straight teeth actually were. Dr. Angle has become known as the “Father of Orthodontics”. Significance Oral health has and always will be important, and orthodontics is an important part of mouth care as well. Patients rely on this field to help with their smile and help with their teeth. Having a better smile and straight teeth can help someone feel better about themselves. Having teeth that are crooked and misaligned can result in several problems such as bite problems and overcrowded teeth. It can be hard to brush and floss your teeth and this can lead to teeth decay and more. Effects As an orthodontist, you will be putting patients in braces or retainers and for the most part, braces are going to be made from metal. Thanks to modern day technology, braces are now made to be clear so they are not as visible as metal ones. There are even braces that are worn on the back of the teeth to help straighten teeth. Invisalign is now becoming a popular option and for the most part, patients will be in their braces for a year and a half to 2 years. Considerations There are many people who wish to work in this field, and there is an extensive amount of educational requirements that have to be met. You need to have a Bachelor’s degree and then dental school is required. This equals to about 8 years of school to become a dentist. You also need to have a license in the state you wish to practice in and many orthodontists work in solo offices. You need to have quick skills and have a good memory. You are going to be responsible and in charge of correcting misaligned teeth. You need to have good judgment as well as having a desire to work with people and helping them have a more confident smile.

A True Open Architecture 401(K) Platform
Jan 19th 2012, 03:58

The term Open Architecture 401(k) has become altogether common in today’s retirement plan marketplace. In fact, almost all record keepers are offering some kind of an investment menu that is comprised of mutual funds from numerous fund families. In the current retirement plan landscape, it’s becoming increasingly less likely for any 401(k) plan to only include investments from a single fund family anymore. While many 401(k) record keepers claim to have an open architecture platform, are they truly indifferent to the funds selected by the plan? Probably not. In practice, many 401(k) record keepers vary their fees based on revenue sharing received by the record keeper from mutual fund companies or the number of proprietary funds offered by the record keeper that are selected by a plan. Revenue sharing can be defined as fees paid by the mutual fund companies to service providers for performing record keeping services and/or sub-transfer agency services to retirement plans. Examples of what a 401(k) record keeper might claim to be an open architecture platform include: 1) Offering 500 mutual funds from 50 fund families, all of which pay some sort of revenue sharing to the record keeper. 2) Offering 1000 mutual funds from 100 fund families, some of which pay revenue sharing to the record keeper. The fees charged by the record keeper for a plan will vary based on how many funds selected by the plan pay revenue sharing to the record keeper. 3) Offering 1000-plus mutual funds from 100-plus fund families, and charging an additional asset-based fee for all balances in funds that are not deemed “proprietary funds” by the record keeper. In all of these scenarios, the plan is free to select non-proprietary mutual funds. At the same time, however, either the revenue to the record keeper or the explicit fees paid by the plan (or both) will fluctuate depending on the funds selected by the plan. In the first illustration, the plan must choose funds that charge an additional expense in the form of, for example, service, shareholder servicing or sub-transfer agency fees. If these fees are not passed back to the plan to offset the plan’s costs, the “all in fee” paid by the participants would be higher than a lineup of mutual funds that didn’t include revenue sharing. In the second example, the record keeper would not be able to provide an accurate fee quote to the plan until it knows what funds the plan intends to utilize. The record keeper here has the discretion to retain the revenue sharing payments as partial compensation and then charge lower explicit fees based on how many funds the plan selects that engage in revenue sharing. In the third example, any participants invested in funds not offered by the record keeper in the form of “proprietary funds” will simply have an additional asset-based fee deducted from their accounts. A true Open Architecture 401(k), on the other hand, allows plans to select investments from hundreds of mutual fund families and exchange traded funds (ETFs) without impacting the record keeper’s fees to the plan. In other words, the record keeper’s fee schedule will clearly disclose the specific fees the plan will be charged. These fees should not be impacted by a plan’s investment lineup. For record keepers that choose to use all or a portion of revenue sharing payments to offset plan expenses, the actual dollar amount paid by the plan may vary based on the proportion of participants invested in funds that offer revenue sharing payments. This type of arrangement, however, still provides a plan with unlimited flexibility to select an investment lineup that it considers truly “best of breed” without regard to the potential implications the fund selections will have on the plan’s record keeping fees. This design allows plan sponsors and plan-designated investment advisors to fully customize their fund lineups based on the needs of their participants. So, when hearing a record keeper stake their claim to offering an Open Architecture 401(k) platform, be sure to ask the following questions: 1) How many mutual funds are available for inclusion in the plan’s lineup? 2) How many mutual fund families are on the platform? 3) Are institutional share classes available? 4) How many ETFs are available on the 401k platform? 5) Am I required to utilize a certain number of proprietary funds? 6) Will my fees vary based on the funds I select? The answers to these questions will tell you very clearly if the firm offers an open architecture platform.

Travel Go Stuff Hamburg
Homemade Hamburger Recipe – 2 Tasty Gourmet Hamburgers
Jan 19th 2012, 04:58

Sometimes a hamburger is more than just a plain ole burger when some little twists are added to the traditional recipe. Turn your plain burger patty into a juicy, mouthwatering gourmet burger that can be savored with each bite. Believe it or not, gourmet burgers are easy to make and use ingredients that you can find in your kitchen cabinet or quickly at the store. What you’re actually doing is adding a few more herbs and spices to give the burger a very distinctive flavor. The recipes here represent different cultural influences that turn an ordinary burger into something very special. Easy Teriyaki Burgers In a small bowl, combine 1/2 cup of ketchup, 2 tablespoons of teriyaki sauce and 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper. Place 1 pound of ground beef into a large bowl. Add in 1/4 cup of the teriyaki sauce mixture to the ground beef and mix well. Shape into four 1/2-inch thick patties. Cover and cook patties over medium heat for 8 to 10 minutes until they reach a medium doneness. Turn patties over and brush on remaining teriyaki sauce while patties are still cooking. Remove patties from heat and place on buns. Add on lettuce, tomatoes and condiments. Pepper Burgers with Caramelized Onions Take 2 large yellow onions and slice them up to make 4 cups. In a large skillet, melt 1 tablespoon of butter until it sizzles; add in the sliced onions. Cook onions over medium heat (35 – 40 minutes); stirring occasionally until they’re tender and a deep golden brown color. Stir in 1/4 teaspoon dried thyme leaves, 1 teaspoon white wine vinegar, 1/4 teaspoon coarsely ground pepper and 1/8 teaspoon of salt. Continue cooking onions, while stirring occasionally, until the onions become caramelized (about 5 more minutes). In a large bowl, add in 1 1/2 pounds of lean ground beef, 2 tablespoons of stone ground mustard and 1/4 teaspoon of salt. Mix lightly then shape into four 3/4-inch thick patties. Coat both sites of patties with 2 teaspoons of coarsely ground pepper. Cook hamburger patties until they reach desired doneness, turning once while cooking. Toast 4 hamburger buns and place patties on each. Top each hamburger with 1/4 cup of caramelized onions.
